Course Objectives
This course aims to provide a solid and quick head start in learning the Quranic recitation especially for complete beginners
or anyone who would like to brush up their basic fundamentals in reciting the Quran. At the end of this course, students will
be able to at least pronounce short phrases from the Quran and also understand some rules of recitation and characteristics
of letters.
After completion of Module 1, students can then progress to Module 2 where the rules of tajweed for recitation will be covered
in depth, before being able to recite the Quran properly.
Course Outline
- Introduction to Al-Quran and its significance in learning it
- Recognition of the 28 Quranic letters in their isolate form
- Ways of memorizing the letters easily
- Proper pronunciation and articulation points (makhaarij) of Quranic alphabets
- Short vowels: Fatha, Kasrah, Dhamma
- Long vowels: Huruf Maddah
- Nunation - Tanween
- Diacritic- Shadda; how and when to use it
- Rules of Tafkheem and Tarqeeq (heaviness and lightness of letters)
- Joining of letters to form words and how to spell and pronounce them step-by-step
- Frequent checks on students' progress (to ensure everybody is on the right track)
- Learn how to count and recognize numbers in Arabic
- Exposure to some tajweed rules
- Lessons will be made as interactive, fun and easy as possible to enhance better understanding
- **BONUS: Crash-course on writing in Arabic
Course Details
- Class commencement date: 17th December 2022 (Open to Ladies/Muslimah Only)
- 12 sessions (2 hrs per session, Once a week) - Every Saturday 9am - 11am
- Course fee: $245.00 (inclusive of materials and registration fees)
- Language of instruction: Malay + English (Course material in English)
- Venue: Due to high demand of non-physical classes, lessons will be conducted online via ZOOM
- Course Instructor: Ustazah Siti Hasanah (ARS Tier-1 certified)
Entry Requirements
- Open to everyone, of ages 18 years old and above (For kids and young teens, please refer to separate courses)
- No prior knowledge is required since this course is suited for complete beginners
