So...you are now equipped with the basic fundamentals of reciting the Quran as covered in Module 1.
Are you fully prepared to recite the Quran now? Of course not until you have learnt how to recite with
proper Tajweed, which is the Science of reading Quran correctly.
The ideal way of learning how to read Quran with Tajweed is of course through guidance of a qualified teacher
so that help can be rendered in your pronunciation and your mistakes pointed out. That is what you would expect to
receive out of this module. With the lessons condensed into smaller sections, it enables learners to grasp the Tajweed
rules easily.

Why Must I Recite With Tajweed?
Course Objectives
A continuation from Module 1, this module provides an in-depth understanding and focus on the Tajweed rules and how
it is applied in your Quranic recitation. At the end of this Module, students should be able to familiarize themselves with the
different sets of recitation rules and be more confident when they start reading the Qur'an, In Shaa Allah.
Why Must I Recite With Tajweed?
- It is a set of rules for proper pronunciation and recital of the Quran
- It is meant to replicate the way the Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) recited the Quran
- Learning Tajweed is an art of keeping your tongue from making a mistake in the recitation of Allah's word/ The Quran.
- Tajweed adds a beautiful voice for your recitation apart from avoiding making recitation mistakes
- Applying tajweed when reciting Quran is considered to be fard ain; a must for all those who recite Quran. See the following ayah:
"Or add to it, and recite the Qur'an with measured recitation."
(Muzzamil 73:4)

Course Outline
- Introduction to Tajweed and its significance in reciting the Quran
- Focus on attaining fluency in reading joint letters: Madda, Waqaf and Ibtida'
- Knowing the 4 main elements of Tajweed: The Ghunnah, Madda, Makhraj and Tartil (composure)
- Learn to easily identify Rasm Uthmani's signs and symbols
- The various hamzah rules
- Knowing the ghoribah ayahs (rare recitation rules found only in specific surahs)
- Frequent checks on students' progress (to ensure everybody is on the right track)
- Healthy dosage of recitation practice of short surahs with application of Tajweed
- Theoretical/written practices in class to enhance understanding of different Tajweed rules
- Lessons will be made as interactive, fun and easy as possible to enhance better understanding
- **BONUS: The techniques of memorizing Surahs effectively
Course Details
- Class commencement date(s): 25th March 2023 (Open to Ladies/Muslimah Only)
- 12 sessions (2 hrs per session, Once a week) - Every Saturday 9.30am - 11.30am
- Course fee: $245 (inclusive of materials and registration fees)
- Language of instruction: English/Malay
- Venue: Due to high demand, lessons will be conducted online via ZOOM platform
- Course Instructor: Ustazah Hasanah (ARS Tier 1 Certified)
Entry Requirements
- Open to everyone, of ages 18 years old and above (For kids and young teens, please refer to separate courses)
- Able to recognize the Quranic Alphabets and at least read short phrases from the Qur'an- refer to Module 1
